Trick -or-treat Rap

Trick or treating is a Halloween custom in many countries. Children in the neighbourhood dress up in costumes and travel in small groups from house to house in order to ask for treats such as sweets or money with the question "Trick or treat?". The trick is a threat to perform mischief on homeowners or their property if no treat is given. Most home owners have sweets, nuts and treats in a bowl at the door to give to the children.

Our Autumn acrostic poems

In Year 3, as a part of our Autumn project,  we have created acrostic poems.  

What is an acrostic poem?

An acrostic poem uses the letters in a topic word to begin each line. A U T U M N

First we brainstormed a list of words or sentences that described or reminded us of Autumn.

Then we wrote the word AUTUMN vertically and chose the words from the list.

We created a class Autumn acrostic poem first and finally each pupil created their own poem.

We show you a nice example we will display on the walls.

En 3º, como parte de nuestro proyecto de otoño, hemos creado acrósticos. Estos poemas se crean colocando la palabra en vertical (en este caso OTOÑO-AUTUMN) y escogiendo para cada verso palabras o frases que nos evoquen o describan el otoño y que antes hemos puesto en común.

Después de crear un poema colectivo entre todos, cada alumno ha creado su propio poema. En la imagen un estupendo ejemplo de esta actividad de expresión escrita en inglés que colocaremos en el mural del otoño en las paredes del pasillo de nuestro ciclo.
